The risks of climate change are clear: rising global temperatures are causing more frequent, severe weather events impacting homes and businesses; degrading ecosystems and infrastructures; creating instability in households’ access to food and drinking water; and posing hazards to the health and economic wellbeing of communities. At the same time, investments in clean energy and sustainability solutions are generating abundant opportunities. The 2024 election will spark a critical debate about the level of risks and opportunities posed by a changing climate and what actions ought to be considered to help stakeholders adapt and accelerate the transition to a carbon neutral, resilient, and sustainable future. This will be one area where the international community will be watching how the U.S responds and leads.
